“Time to Deliver” was the overall theme of the 16th International AIDS Conference held in Torondo from 13-18 August 2006. Dr. Peter Payoyo of PSAP, who was given a full scholarship by the organizing committee, was one of 25,000 participants in this global gathering tasked to consider, and urgently act on, the HIV/AIDS pandemic in the world today.
PSAP focused its participation in the plenary and satellite sessions which dealt with intersecting topics on “migrants/mobile populations and HIV-AIDS”. An informal network of stakeholders concerned with AIDS and migration was set up during the Conference.
