How to support PSAP
PSAP is a grant-maintained, non-profit foundation which has relied on the generosity of its friends and donors over the past twenty years. Thanks to the financial and other resources provided to PSAP by various organizations and individuals, the work done by PSAP to promote the rights and welfare of seafarers, particularly Filipino seafarers, have been sustained and effective.
The support that can be given to the mission and the work of PSAP takes three forms:
1. Cash and financial grants;
2. Volunteered time and effort; and
3. Donations in kind.
Financial Support and Cash Grants for PSAP
Whether consisting a few bills or a few thousands, no cash gift is ever so small for PSAP. Throughout the years, numerous individuals and several grant-giving agencies have lent their wonderful encouragement and support to PSAP in the form of financial donations.
The sheer number of seafarers availing of PSAP’s services, as well as the expanding advocacy agenda of the organization, remains to be a biggest challenge of PSAP in the years to come. More than ever, the fund-raising efforts of PSAP need all the support it can get.
Project grant-awards to PSAP have come from a host of funding organizations, including Novib/Oxfam Netherlands, the ITF Seafarers Trust, Cordaid, AidFonds and Cafod.
“Throw your bread in the water, and it will come back to you a hundred-fold.”
Expand your horizons. Two-thirds of this planet is ocean. Filipino workers abound on the seas. Humanize the sea. We are counting on you!

In-kind Donations are also OK
PSAP also accepts non-cash gifts and material donations. While PSAP is not a Salvation Army-type of charity, there have been occasions in the past where campaigns have been launched to raise material provisions for needy seafarers. But PSAP no longer does such public campaigns, because the help of Volunteers and other local stakeholders have always come in handy during humanitarian emergencies involving seafarers.
PSAP however accepts gifts and donations that are meant to assist PSAP’s office administration or PSAP’s port-based services logistics. For example, PSAP regularly receives bulk items from the Kersfeest op Zee (a local organization that mobilizes gifts for seafarers) which are then distributed as gifts and presents to seafarers during PSAP’s annual Christmas party celebrations for seafarers in Rotterdam.
